Effective interviewing skills 

The ability to effectively interview all parties in an ASB case is essential in resolving most ASB & Community Safety cases. This half-day course will provide learners with knowledge of how to interview victims, witnesses & alleged perpetrators effectively to get to the root of the issues and gather information to resolve cases. The course will equip learners with differing interview techniques which will be useful when undertaking investigations. 

Who should attend?

Housing officers, ASB / Community safety officers, Tenancy Enforcement officers, ASB team Leaders, Police officers

Objectives

  • Understand how to prepare for an interview with witnesses and victims of antisocial behaviour
  • Understand how to conduct an interview in relation to a case of antisocial behaviour

Course content includes:

  • Interview preparation
  • Interview techniques
  • Gathering information , assessing credibility, assessing risk & vulnerability, exploring solutions, managing expectations , action planning.
