#TGH: Closure Powers

#TGH: Closure Powers

The Crime and Policing Bill proposes to broaden powers for dealing with specific crimes and tackling anti-social behaviour. Notably one of the most significant proposed changes is enhanced powers for Closure Orders. The Bill is set to enable registered providers of social housing to seek such orders and close premises they own or manage with associated nuisance and disorder. This new power will add to a social landlords toolkit for tackling anti-social behaviour. This webinar discusses the legal and practical implications of the proposals.

Senga Howells is a Senior Associate Solicitor at Bevan Brittan LLP specifically dealing with all housing management related issues for registered providers for social housing. Senga routinely supports both housing associations and local authorities with obtaining legal remedies to deal with anti-social behaviour.

Sean Richards  is an experienced Community Safety Manager at West Kent Housing Association. He has significant experience of dealing with anti-social behaviour and has supported the police to obtain closure orders to tackle serious nuisance and disorder.

Between them, Sean and Senga have over 20 years’ collective experience in housing.
