Mental Health First Aid Course CPD

The training will take place online via zoom on the following dates:
Session one: Monday 4th May - 09:30 - 13:30
Session two: Tuesday 5th May - 09:30 - 13:00

All four sessions must be attended to achieve the certificate

Introductory Level: Intro to ASB
The course will enable the delegate to understand what anti-social behaviour is, what effect it has, how it should be responded to and the harm centred approach. It will give an overview of principles of ASB case management. Available tools and effective witness support.
Objectives include:
- Understand the definitions of ASB
- Understand the harm centred approach
- Understand the principles of effective ASB case management
Expected outcomes include:
- The learner will be able to respond effectively to reports of ASB
This course is CPD Accredited
Lunchtime Session: Tools & Powers for Enforcement
This session is led by an experienced solicitor who has practical experience of dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour Social Housing cases.
We aim to explore the tools and powers available for enforcement including:
- Legislation and Statutory Guidance
- Prevention tools – Mediation, formal warnings and notices
- Remedial Action – When you should consider enforcement
- Case Management, and evidence
Led by an experienced solicitor, this training will offer Housing Providers with a better understanding of enforcement procedures and the importance of housing case management.

Advanced Level: Drafting legal witness statements in ASB cases
This course provides guidance and techniques that learners can use to take and draft up effective witness statements that can be used in Court.
Objectives include:
- To be able to take a witness statement that can be used in legal proceedings
- Understand different forms of evidence and be able to present evidence effectively in the legal process

Introductory Level: Customer Service Training
Foundation Level: Managing noise reports effectively
Noise reports are one of the main complaint areas for practitioners. This course explores the definition of noise, it’s impact and how practitioners can respond effectively to reports. The course refers to the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, Consumer Standards and Tenant Satisfaction Measures and how we can ensure we are meeting these objectives.
Objectives Include:
- To understand noise reports and the thresholds they may or may not meet
- To understand the impact of noise reports and why it is important to respond effectively
- To be able to apply a range of techniques & interventions to resolve noise reports effectively
Expected outcomes include:
- Learners will have a better understanding of noise , thresholds and what tools & interventions they can use to resolve noise reports effectively

Foundation Level: ASB Case Management
This one-day course is aimed at those officers who deal with ASB cases as part of their role. The course will enable the delegate to understand the methodology of good case management, and will include categories of ASB, risk assessment, investigation techniques, assessing a case, appropriate responses & tools, intervening early, evidence gathering, record keeping, and victim / witness support.
Objectives include:
- Understand the techniques and skills required to manage ASB cases effectively and promptly
- Utilise the appropriate tools and methods to respond to ASB cases early
- Make case progression decisions based on analysis and assessment of the case, and evidence
